Suicide Prevention

VA Staff Sergeant Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program

You do not have to navigate challenges alone. We provide confidential guidance and the opportunity to engage in wellness events and retreats that give Veterans tools to manage stress, build resilience, become informed about resources, and stay connected. These efforts are designed to prevent crisis and create lasting stability.

About Our Suicide Prevention Efforts

Our program focuses on self-care, empowerment, and ongoing support for Veterans. Services may include massage, acupuncture, wellness workshops, and retreats that make it easier to manage stress and reduce pain. Veterans are also connected to VA benefits, supported in building self-advocacy skills, and referred to services that strengthen long-term stability. Together, these efforts provide practical tools for daily life and create opportunities to connect with others and build meaningful relationships with fellow Veterans who understand their service and shared experiences.

THE PROCESS

Here’s How We Can Help

Our program offers practical services and activities that aim to reduce stress and improve wellbeing. Each effort is designed to encourage engagement and connect Veterans to referrals for ongoing support and additional resources.

1: Outreach

We reach Veterans who may not have access to resources and provide screenings to identify those at risk, connecting them to the support and services they need to ensure no one is left behind.

2: Intake and Assessment

Each Veteran begins with an intake process that assesses eligibility criteria and provides a clear plan for support based on individual needs and available services.

3: Case Management

Dedicated staff develop an individualized plan specifically with Veterans to address challenges, explore benefits, and connect to services that strengthen overall wellbeing.

4: Health and Wellness Support

Massage, acupuncture, wellness workshops, and other activities may be offered based on eligibility and availability to provide relief from stress and pain while encouraging self-care and balance.
